You're going to reap just what you sow

Various Artists - Perfect Day

Eindelijk is 'ie binnen, mijn nieuwe aanwinst.

Just a perfect day
Drink sangria in the park
Lou Reed
And then later, when it gets dark Bono
We go home. Morcheeba (Sky)
Just a perfect day David Bowie
Feed animals in the zoo Suzanne Vega

Then later, a movie, too
And then home

Elton John
Oh it's such a perfect day Boyzone
I'm glad I spent it with you Lesley Garrett
Oh such a perfect day Burning Spear
You just keep me hanging on Bono
You just keep me hanging on Thomas Allen
Just a perfect day Heather Small
Problems all left alone Emmylou Harris
Weekenders on our own Tammy Wynette
It's such fun Shane McGowan (Pogues)
Just a perfect day Dr. John
You made me forget myself David Bowie
I thought I was someone else Robert Gray
Someone good Huey (Fun Lovin' Criminals)
Oh it's such a perfect day Ian Brodie (Lightning Seeds)
I'm glad I spent it with you Gabrielle
Oh such a perfect day Dr. John
You just keep me hanging on Evan Dando
You just keep me hanging on Emmylou Harris
You're going to reap just what you sow Brett Anderson (Suede)
You're going to reap … Joan Armatrading
… just what you sow Laurie Anderson
You're going to reap just what you sow Heather Small
You're going to reap just what you sow Tom Jones
Oh what a perfect day Lou Reed

Nicholas Pegg schreef over dit lied in zijn onvolprezen "The Complete David Bowie" het volgende:

Co-produced by Bowie for Reed's Transformer, 'Perfect Day' has taken its place in the pantheon of classic rock ballads. Even to the uninitiated it's familiar from a dozen films and commercials, perhaps most famously 1996's Trainspotting (although the notion that the lyric might be addressed to heroin rather than to a lover predates the film by many years). Countless covers include a 1995 version by Kirsty McCall and Evan Dando, and another - produced by Ken Scott - on Duran Duran's 1995 album Thank You.

In September 1997 both Bowie and Reed featured in the BBC's new recording of 'Perfect Day', for which individual lines were taped by a plethora of celebrity artists across the spectrum of musical styles as an extended advertisement for the Corporation's public service remit. A more bizarre choice of song as a vessel for an exercise in corporate branding would be difficult to imagine, but somehow it worked. (...) "Perfect Day '97" attracted enormous interest and in November it was released as a single in aid of the BBC's Children in Need charity, going straight to number 1 in the UK.
